Point-of-Load (POL) power supplies are generally located close to their source that requires powering. With high peak current demands and low noise requirements presented by the FPGA or ASIC the need to located an individual power supply close to their point of use becomes more important.  It is increasingly more important as processors operate at lower voltages and higher clock frequencies that the POL’s must possess fast dynamic responses. The new Mono Block types working at 20A and 6A DC-DC converters (POL) that have the highest power density to date. Small size and high reliability are the key features and exactly what is required by communication base stations for small cells. Additionally, these products can be used in a great number of other applications such as optical transmission systems, network security devices, industrial and gaming equipment.
