As PCBs and component areas shrink, and layout density increases, routing processes are becoming ever more challenging.
The rubber bands, (airwires or ratsnest) view can be confusing with a high density of nets which makes identifying the net to be routed more difficult.
In DesignSpark PCB, a powerful feature is to use the "Interaction Bar" to select a specific net, so the connections and pads on that net are then highlighted. This can greatly assist you to route the highlighted net.
This can be visually enhanced by optimising the "Colours" to make the selected net stand out from other features while routing.
Highlighting nets also helps to identify a component that if relocated or re-orientated will produce a neater layout with shorter tracks, which are all good design practices.
