Silk screen "break" over pads

tango123

Hi all,

I'm using DSPCB Explorer V11_0_2 to design a simple 2-layer PCB.

The Top Silk Screen layer has a lot on it, and obviously I don't want the Silk Screen to be painted over SMT component pads. So I tried to see if I could use the "break" feature, per the "Edit Layer Type" dialog box as described in the Help docs.

My problem is this...when I edit the Silk Screen layer in Layer Types, the "Edit Layer Type" dialog box comes up but it is missing the checkbox to "Break Shapes Around Pads". This checkbox is shown in the Help docs example, but does not appear in my version of DSPCB.

Is this "break" feature not available in Explorer? Or perhaps I'm missing something else? Would appreciate any and all pointers...thanks and best regards!
