Format of DSL-Files

Hi there,

I want to create my own .dsl file for the import of footprints/symbols/components.
But now I am stuck and there seems to be no documentation of the .dsl-fileformat online.
I could teach myself about some of the basics by looking at the dsl-Files from some suppliers, but I couldnt find a way to change colors inside the symbol.

Does anyone now a documentation for this fileformat or has an Idea how to draw polygons with multiple colors?

DSL is an inhouse format produced by the program developers. I enquired about this in the past and it is not published. I also reverse engineered some files in the past before PPL came on the scene and have no requirements now so have not investigated further.
Regarding the colours, DSPCB does not fully support colours and has some restrictions so what you trying to do may not be possible and cause errors when imported. If you cannot do something with the normal tools it is unlikely to work with the dSL import in my experience.

@Boss Thank you. Than I just have to live with black and white symbols, I guess.

@wmnail you can change the symbol outline colours as well as many others in the schematic. Pree shortcut key "C" and change the colour assigned to Symbol Shapes. You can also fill the symbol with a colour in the component editor by selecting the shape properties as "filled" BUT I did a test recently with the support guys and although it appears correct on screen you cannot print as a PDF as the colour plots over any text within the component. Looks nice on screen though.
