I understand that this is a design competition to create an open source product, but I would like some clarity please.
Who will own the IP for the products that are designed?
How will organisations be able to generate revenue from the design? e.g. will there be the opportunity to manufacture the products? Will there be an option to licence the product design?
Leak detection in the insurance industry is the number one claim, and my concern is that we design a product that can potentially be used in a market that has a volume of millions of devices, and lose out on revenue due to this being an open source product.
