Kids can get their inventions brought to life

We run Kids Invent Stuff - the YouTube channel where 5-11-year-olds can get their invention ideas built and tested by real engineers.

Last year RS Components helped us to bring to life two kids invention ideas- Chester's Scarecrowtron and Connor's Crazy Car! The Crazy Car has been viewed across Youtube and Facebook by almost 1 million people! You can see how we got on over on our YouTube channel and we documented our journey on the DesignSpark blog.

For our next invention challenge, we have teamed up with RS Components for some classroom fun! We are looking for kids' ideas for Classroom inventions, ideas for to liven up lessons and make them a little more exciting!

For some inspiration, we have come up with our own Top 5, but we think that kids can come up with something a little more fun.

Submitting invention ideas is easy – they can be sent in as either drawings or videos uploaded to our website (www.kidsinventstuff.com). For schools and educators, we have an optional worksheet for the challenge which you can download too. It also features an 'Invent at Home' project, a practical making activity.

The challenge closes on February 28th and on March 3rd we’ll showcase some of the best ideas and announce which invention we’ll be making.

If you want some more inspiration why not check out our YouTube channel to see some of the other things we’ve built so far:

Keep inventing!

Ruth & Shawn

Hey! We are 'Kids Invent Stuff', a youtube channel that brings to life kids' invention ideas. Run by Ruth Amos & Shawn Brown, we set a different invention challenge each month and 5-11 year olds submit their invention ideas at www.kidsinventstuff.com as picture or videos. We then choose an invention to bring to life and film the process of building and testing it. We then upload the videos to our channel www.youtube.com/kidsinventstuff
