One of Alpha Wire's most popular cable product families is Xtra-Guard. With 7 different categories within the product line, Xtra-Guard proves to be one of the most dynamic and versatile offerings from Alpha Wire in terms of industrial cable. This year, Alpha Wire expanded the cable selection within its Xtra-Guard Flex line of cables.
In our latest YouTube video our Product Manager details the expansion and also discusses the current available offering. The expansion was marked by adding new gauge sizes to its 65000, 85000, and 86000 flex series respectively. Other products featured in the video include strain relief cable glands which pair nicely with Xtra-Guard Flex cables.
The 2018 flex expansion included the following updates:
65000 series - 600V light to moderate flex cable - 2-20 AWG; added 22-26 AWG
85000 series - 600V high flex, continuous flex cable - 2-20 AWG; added 22-26 AWG
86000 series - 300V moderate flex data cable - 22-28 AWG; added 16-20 AWG.
Xtra-Guard Flex cables are long lasting and made for use in industrial applications that require varying levels of bending and twisting. The number of flex life cycles applicable to the cable depends on the flexibility requirement of the application. Light to moderate flex applications are rated up to 1 million flex cycles. Continuous flex control cable applications are rated up to 14 million flex cycles. The 300V continuous flex data cables are rated up to 6 million flex cycles. Lastly, torsional flex cables are rated up to 1 million flex cycles.
These cables are perfect for such applications as robotics and motion control, more specifically applications on the factory floor.
These cables are offered in a wide variety of configurations with shielding options for foil shield, braid shield, and foil/spiral -- unshielded options are also available.
