Incorrect component model.

I'm frustrated.

I've used designspark for quite a few years, and apart from some minor irritations it's largely done the job.

Over the last few weeks, I've designed some boards - specifically using parts from RS catalogue so I can be sure they're exactly what I need, and quickly.

Boards were sent off to be made and parts ordered from RS. Boards arrived last week, along with some of the parts. I assembled what I had. Most of the remaining bits turned up today, and this is where I've come unstuck. One of the components is a relay - V23061B1005A401. The component model is WRONG. The PCB footprint is viewed from the bottom, not from the top - and since it has the contacts arranged in a triangular pad layout, it simply cannot fit.

If the board were sitting in free space, I could work around it by putting the relays on the back of the board - as ugly as that is. But there simply isn't room for me to do that, the back of the board is right up against other immovable objects.

While I can flip the model in designspark, it is a major problem - the time to have boards re-made, the cost of having boards re-done and freighted. The problem of all the assembled boards that will either need to be stripped, or dumped and new components sourced.

If I'd stuffed up, fair enough... but when the model is wrong - who bears the consequential costs, and how often does this happen?
