PCB outline

In the thumbnail views for the manufacturing outputs is there supposed to be a visible edge line to mark board outline, or is it just the pale green board area that defines the outline?

I have noticed that Gerber viewers take the board outline line as the centre of tool routing path ie finished board outline becomes reduced by routing tool diameter. Is the design meant to allow for this, or is there some way to indicate that routing path should use inside (or centre) of board outline as inside of tool routing path?

Cheers

Phil

Hi Phil, I don't know about the thumbnail view as it just an indication for confidence that you have the correct items and plots selected, but in the Gerbers the board outline is the centre of the line width used. When manufactured the routing tool diameter will automatically be accounted for and they will machine to this board outline (or cutout).
