DS v11 crash

brianmk

I originally submitted this as a reply to an earlier thread regarding DSv9 crashes but it seems to have gone unnoticed so I am repeating it as the problem still exists in DSv11.

See https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/ds-9-crash-history.

====

After several months, today I returned to using DS. (Now v11).

I immediately encountered a bug:-

I started a new design project and attempted to create a new schematic symbol as nothing existed in any libraries and nothing was available from SnapEda.

After about an hour's work editing the symbol, DS crashed without warning. A whole evening's work lost.

This is the same problem I experienced with DS9. The exception code is the same: 0xc0000005 (memory access violation).

The bug has not been fixed in v11.

Here is the Event Viewer Log.

The crash is not easily repeatable. I suspect it's caused by memory leaks.
