Kept DS7.2 and updated to version 8 and used version 8 to edit an existing project.
Edit consisted of updating tracks routes around an existing choice of I/C to suit a different pcb footprint size. .
That initially went well but then discovered that as I rearranged the tracking and then checking for design errors an ever increasing number of dangling track errors were appearing even though the tracking appeared connected. i.e it visibly it appeared to be a continuous net .between the two nodes , be it via, pad or component.
On careful inspection the problem appears to be that as the track is moved, at any discontinuity small disconnected specs\globs of normal red coloured track are generated and can be found be hiding under the surface of the connected track segment. As if he software was treating the segment as a physical connection and fracturing it when the bend exceeded a safe limit
Selecting and deleting the speck does resolve the error in some cases but not all.
Have retreated back to 7.2 for the moment, any ideas, . Regards Georgeh
