In the following, I have a peg sticking out of a rod. Its very easy to pattern that rotationally (or linearly); but what I need to do is pattern it helically around the length of the rod as kind of indicated in the lower graphic:
Of course that would smear it continuosly, where I want to copy it discretely at intervals.
Any thoughts on how that might be done? Thanks.
