Electronica is an exhibition occurring every 2 years in Germany, Munich. Unlike most events, Electronica is the future and provides great insight into what imminent technologies will be available.

For the visitor, it’s a visual treat! Boundless technologies nurturing the present and next generation of customers. For the exhibitor, it’s an up rise in awareness and engagement. The sheer size is a spectacle that leaves no one indifferent.

RS Components fits in perfectly with over 2,500 of its suppliers also showing their products and services.

Because no one can stand alone, it’s no surprise then that RS Components chose to exhibit the supplier relationships and logos on stand as the World’s Leading High Service Distributor.

From an innovative approach, RS Components displayed DesignSpark in all of its formats – DesignSpark PCB, DesignSpark Mechanical, DesignSpark Electrical, and RS Toolbox. The novelty this year from DesignSpark came in the form of Obsolescence Manager.

Like so many times in the past, DesignSpark has shown that free tools can be synonymous with reliability and quality. Obsolescence Manager is no exception. There was no better platform to exhibit the potential this tool has for any engineer, buyer, manufacturer or designer. DesignSpark does really enable “Innovation for every engineer”.

RS University’s input was predominantly on the final day of Electronica – student day. Many competitions and goodies were on hand to all visitors. The most captivating goodie for the students was the RS Virtual Reality headset. Besides offering the headset, anyone could, and still can, download the RS Pallet Panic App available on the App Store and Play Store.

So while goodies were provided, a student leaflet also made the rounds with an exclusive focus on students’ academic needs. In conjunction with a student competition that focusses on bringing value to both the student and their University. In addition to all new DesignSpark and existing members having the possibility of winning prizes just for joining or logging in.

As a visitor and exhibitor, the future looks bright in electronics.
