I didn't know drawing views were so adaptable...
Broken views and broken out sections can also be utilised to make Partial views..
'Local Detail view 'A' can have additional 'Projected view' added, which is then selected becoming the Aligned Sections host which an additional 'Broken' view has then be added. Then the unwanted 'Broken' view ( side or sides) can be deleted. Alternatively, if the broken line is outside of the model, then only 1 partial view is made.
Partial View of the scalloped angled face is actually a broken out section with the remaining scallop 'outside' of the broken section. The original projected view that the whole view ( latterly becoming a partial view) was projected from, then has had an subsequent 'Broken' view applied to it using a spline - breaking this view into two views with the unwanted view then being deleted.
All this is a bit of a long way around but it achieves exactly what is needed.
The scrap view under D-D is made from a broken out section.
The pivot tool for 'Aligned Sections' is just amazingly fast with such a simple and few click process.
The ziz zag broken lines seem to be non functional at the moment, I've reverted to spline breaks which I quite like now.
Above local sections and views etc were made with v6.0.3
In the post below, note model dimsensions on a singular plane are actually placed in two orthogonal views without duplication and almost automatically! just ask how...

I have an assembly with multiple copies of parts. The parts I've designed from scratch all behave as I want, if I move one the other stay still, if I change the design of any part all get the same design change.
However I've some parts which where originally STP files I've converted to rsdocx. For these parts if I move one of them all the parts move the same (component or object selected). I can make them independant, but then I end up with multiple copies of essentially the same thing.
I made them docx as I may want to make changes and I want to link a drawing to the part.
How can I stop this happening and the converted stp files behave the same as scratch drawn parts ? Hi DS Mechanical users, we at DesignSpark have now upgraded the discussion forum
with a 'pin to top' feature.
This means that above the headline, you can see discussion threads from users that we think can be helpful to everyone using DS Mechanical.
If you scrolled past it, it's above the Create new post and looks like this:

I tried to add a panel meter to the library.
The PCB symbol includes a rectangular outline with rounded corners:-
I added a new entry in the 3D View library with Package Style set to 'Shape'. The preview looks as expected:-
However the resulting 3D View does not work - you only get a flat 2D outline:-
If I change the Package Style to 'Box' then it works (except there are no rounded corners of course):-
This has to be a bug.

When I went to open DS, version 10 booted up without any issues, but version 11 indicates that there is an activation issue, meaning there is a communication issue between your server and the program during startup.
Since upgrade from v8 to v11, links to companent packages have been broken, still shows component and going into the preferences for it, still shows the package name.
When generating pcb it comes up with multple errors for component packages, how can this be fixed without having to redo companent libraries? Bonjour,
Google Translation:
Good morning everyone,
I've been using DSM for a week now and find it very intuitive. The only thing I noticed is that project planning method 3 is used when creating the drawing and I can't change that (or haven't found it yet). This will always lead to discussions with long-established manufacturers ;-)
Is there a function for this or something I didn't notice when creating the drawing? Bonjour,
Comment corriger ce probléme Drill Hole to Dril Hole ?
Merci d'avance
