Adding WiFi and Bluetooth to embedded systems can be surprisingly complex. Not only is there the issue of antenna, matching and RF traces but the software side of things can be be equally complex. Jorjin Technologies has been a long time partner of Texas Instruments and we have sold modules using their SoCs into many high volume consumer applications including the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. However, our recently announced WG7831-DELFA is aimed at the low volume maker market and is designed to be partnered with an embedded application processor such as the TI Sitara or Freescale i.MX range.
The module is based on the TI WL1831 SoC which supports 2.4GHz b,g,n along with Bluetooth 4.0 (including Bluetooth Smart) and has an integrated antenna matching. Each module is fully tested and the design has been certified to meet the radio standards for FCC/CE.
Drivers are availabe to download from the Texas Instruments website, and they have an excellent wiki for interfacing to various processors.
