When I try to pull multiple faces, why do I get surfaces instead?

This tutorial requires:

DesignSpark Mechanical V6.0

This occurs if you continue to hold the Ctrl (control) key while pulling the object.

Holding Ctrl key with a Pull or Move operation creates a copy of the selected object – be it a face or a solid. In this screenshot, you see a new surface has been created as an exact copy of the face we tried to Pull while pressing down the Ctrl key.

If you want Pull to resize the object and not copy it, always release the Ctrl key before dragging your mouse. This time we have increased the object’s height by 10.17mm.

If you want to Pull multiple faces in one go, press and hold CTRL key while selecting them as a group and then release the Ctrl key before using the Pull or Move tools.
