Apologies if this is the incorrect forum but RS sent me here, I need a magnetic pick up sensor for a transmission. I previously purchased from RS the 304-166 but the 3/8 high out put version, they sadly don't seem to sell this anymore and was hoping someone could suggest a replacement outside of rs (or get the RS part number for the 3/8 version)
Many thanks Has anyone come across a 90° hook/fork crimp solution for SAKR terminals, as standard blade crimps are causing cable bunching in tight installations? Good morning,
https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/blade-terminals/0534373
Has anyone came across a Hook crimp like the above that can be crimped at 90 deg to the standard?
They are for SAKR Terminals and crimping the standard way is causing bunching issues.
RS Technical are unable to advise. HI
For the RS code 397-1400 RTD , could you please confirm if it can be submerged in liquid, im planinig to use it with PID controller to heat a water in tank.
Thank you I was sent here by RS with this question: I need to exert a force of 10kg from a DC electric motor via a worm drive. What motor should I choose?
I would be very grateful for any advice Hey everyone!I’m working on a resin MSLA 3D printer project and exploring ways to implement an automated bed leveling system. The goal is to achieve precise parallel alignment between the build plate and the resin vat — reducing peel forces and avoiding print failures.
I’d love to hear your ideas, suggestions, or experiences with auto-leveling mechanisms specifically for resin printers. This could include: ✔️ Mechanical systems✔️ Sensor types (load cells, piezo, capacitive, etc.)✔️ Actuation methods✔️ Software-based solutions or feedback loops
If you’ve come across or designed any interesting concepts, feel free to share! Diagrams, references, or links are very welcome.
Also, if you have any completely different ideas for achieving precise leveling or minimizing peel force — I’m open to hearing them!
Thanks in advance for the help! I please need advice/ help selecting a Digital temperature controller for controling a heating element(220v AC) to between 200 to 210 deg C,
Currently I am using a Digital temp controler that has a switch for it's output, so switching a relay to switch the element on or off as needed,
I'm looking for a controler that has a voltage output to switch / activate a digital relay, most of which I have found need a 5v to 30v DC input, sureley there should be a way to do this without having to use a transformer and regulator to convert the 220v AC to 24v DC.
Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated. There is a 350W 24v switching power supply, which we use to power modules such as PLC and relays. In an accident, it is estimated that the line is short-circuited and sparks occur. Most of the modules in the circuit are burned. If I pass the fuse after the switching power supply, can this situation be completely avoided? In addition, can the short-circuit protection of the switching power supply protect the modules in the circuit from being burned under normal circumstances? Good morning I'm looking for an instruction manual for the Windmoller Triumph V made in 1972. I would like if anyone has the pdf
this is the first page, and I have just this. I've got a project that uses JST-SM connectors. It's for an LED pole light which needs to be assembled/reassembled regularly. I'm finding the connectors quite delicate and the pins are getting damage when there's tension or during transport. Is there a more robust alternative I could use? Hi - On our small vessel we have a 12v failry powerful motor to run the autopilot, where the power is supplied by the boat's battery bank. On an 'independant' system we have 240v that is supplied via an inverter, but the power originates from the same battery bank as the 12v system. The problem is that we have a laptop to run a piece of scientific equiptment, and when the laptop is plugged in to the 240v, it picks up interference whenever the 12v autopilot motor is actuated. The laptop only has to be plugged in - the socket can be switched on or off and the interference is picked up by the laptop. There is no interference on the laptop when not plugged in. So some kind of noise is crossing over to the 240v wiring i guess.
We have tried a couple things so far; adding more ferrites in various places, as well as using a voltage cleaner (a bit like a UPS) between the 240 socket and laptop but the interference still gets through.
I've been looking at things like an IEC in-line filter that I can just plug in to the 240 and laptop cord, but these seem to only filter noise generated from mains power. I'm not an electrician so i'm a bit unclear on what the solution might be, as i'm not actually sure what kind of noise it is that's being generated. Any advices welcome. Thanks.
Hello everyone,
I'm researching the contactors and thermal and electronic overload relays. In particular, I'm trying to understand:
The differences in the products provided by the large players (ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Mitsubishi Electric)
The future trends in terms of technological innovation
Brand perception of the large players (e.g., ABB is good/bad because or xyz, and so on)
I wasn't able to find much online other than companies align to each other and tend to produce:
Compact frames to save space in cabinets
Universal coil to support both DC and AC
Wide range voltage support in coils
Modular hardware
Smart wiring connections
While for relays:
Current measurement and output of data
Remote monitoring features
IoT connectivity features
Smart wiring connections
Does any of you know:
1. What is likely to happen technology-wise in the next few years that could be innovative for the market?
2. What are the differentiators of the products provided by the large manufacturers?
3. How are the large manufacturers perceived and how are Japanese players perceived in the western market in terms of contactors and relays?
Thanks in advance for those of you who will read. Hi Everyone,
I am working on a low voltage (12V DC) application that requires the momentary activation of a device for a several minutes. I was trying to discover a suitable timer relay and came across some of the Weidmuller products, in particular the TERM series, however I am not able to figure out if they are momentary activation to start the timer, and whether or not the timer can be restarted mid-cycle by another input signal. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction for understanding these items?Any help much appreciated.Andrew Hi, does anyone know how to download the programming software for the RS Pro Logic Controller ( RS part no 917-6370).
