RS Electronic Design Lab on Indian University Campus

Students learn these things out of their interest for carrying out projects. As we know today there is a lot buzz about “Electronic Design & Manufacturing in India” and there are lot many initiatives being driven, RS India felt perhaps it is important to propose universities RS Electronic Design Lab based on our design tools, where students can learn & practice schematic & PCB layout design & 3D product design.

Many universities warmed-up to the idea & they set-up “RS Electronic Design Lab” in their campuses. This is absolutely free of cost lab , where RS supports universities with its professional design software – DesignSpark PCB & DesignSpark Mechanical , course material to run a short term course for students & technical resource like tutorials, open source projects etc.

Very recently one of to top Universities in North India - Chitkara Univeristy, Himachal Pradesh has set-up “RS Electronic Design Lab in their campus. The lab was inaugurated on Jan 8, 2015 by Sagar Juneja, (Technical Marketing Manager RS India) and the ceremony was attended by Dr. Rajnish Sharma (Dean Academics, Chitkara University, H.P.), Prof. Lipika Gupta (HOD, ECE) and other senior management and faculty of Chitkara University Himachal Pradesh. This was followed by a faculty development program conducted on Electronic Design using DesignSpark PCB & DesignSpark Mechanical.

University has given a dedicated space for the lab where RS Design Tools are installed in over 25 computers. University has also made a provision where students can test their hardware circuits/boards that they design, using various lab instruments present. This is very thoughtful lab set-up where several posters showcasing the various elements of electronic design & how RS supports electronic design and electronic design engineers (including universities) are put-up.
