Wi-Fi signal strength reduction box

redoak

Hi, I have a sky router which melts chocolates from the inside out. Box of Quality Street placed a few inches away from the router, chocolates melted on inside but firm on outside. Tested with a different box, same result.

This concerned me greatly so I spoke with Sky and they said to put the router in a wi-fi router box to reduce the strength of the signal but it seems I can't get one here in the uk. I am getting a Sky Q box next week and this too has no facility to switch off the wi-fi signal. I have changed my sky router to a wired netgear router but want to find a way of reducing the signal from the sky q box.

Would a copper mesh case do the job? Or what other material could I use? I thought of an old microwave oven but don't think this would be very effective.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks
