I'm not a power-user so I may not be doing this the best way, but I'm trying to use Mirror to reduce effort.
I'm creating a rectangular structure using angle steel. I created a mirror line and then created a rectangle on one side as the base of the angle steel; mirror correctly added a rectangle on the other side. I then pulled my rectangle to reflect the thickness of the steel; mirror mirrored it on the other side rectangle. I then extruded the outer edge to create the angle steel; mirror mirrored it and the mirror line turned into a plane.
Then I pulled the face of extruded outer edge to reflect the thickness of the steel - the pull worked on one side, but mirror didn't do anything, and I can't get it to no matter what I do.
And anything I draw now - even 2D shapes in plan view - don't get mirrored.
When I select any of the original (now 3D) rectangle, I see the mirror plane, but when I select the extruded edge I don't see the mirror plane/line. So obviously DSM sees a difference between what's mirrored and what isn't, but now the mirror isn't doing anything.
I thought v6 Explorer provided 3D mirroring (I believe v5 did not). Is mirroring still limited in the free DSM?
Super-confusing!
Thanks
