UVC (200-280nm) is a highly dangerous wavelength and can cause damage to the eyes and skin. But it is also a very useful and effective solution for disinfection and sterilisation. It is germicidal and can penetrate the cell structures of germs, bacteria, mould and dust mites, thus eliminating them.
With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the awareness around ultraviolet (UV) technology for disinfection and sterilisation has increased dramatically. Some common applications include:
- Electronics, mobile phones, keyboards, mouse and tablets
- Door handles, keypads, keys, money and push buttons
- Toilet seats, flushers, faucets and soap dispensers
- Tables, baby chairs, desktops and countertops
- Bottles, pacifiers, children's toys and bibs
- Shopping carts, handles, baskets and gym equipment
- Toothbrushes, hairbrushes, makeup tools and grooming tools
- Dishes, utensils, cups and placemats
The ILS Log3 is a portable device with 3 powerful UVC LEDs in the range of 250-280nm. This wavelength range is the most capable range for deactivating bacteria and viruses. Log3 has been tested by the accredited lab, Food Industry Research and Development Institute (FIDRI), confirming 99.994% germicidal effectiveness against Klebsiella pneumonia.
UVC light cannot be easily seen with the human eye, therefore for added safety, we have added a white light to illuminate alongside the UV light so users know when the light is switched on.
