Some motion applications require both stepper and DC motors to have encoders for position and/or speed control. Today we will read the encoder channels using Arduino and display the counts of steps on an LCD Screen.
Today we are going to understand the basic theory behind encoders and more specifically quadrature incremental encoders. After getting to know the basics we will try to read the encoders with an Arduino UNO and some very well commented code!
