On the same day that the British royal family announced their latest arrival, global leading desktop 3D printing company Ultimaker also revealed the newest member of their family, the Ultimaker S5.
We had the honour of visiting Ultimaker’s HQ in Geldermalsen to see the next generation of Ultimaker’s range in action, and we were very impressed by the latest printer within their line-up!
Ultimaker have been working hard to enable users to focus on their creation of functional prototypes, larger objects, other designs and models that require full geometrical design freedom capabilities, with the new Ultimaker S5 needing less time than ever to configure.
It has been designed to fit seamlessly into existing workflows and is able to deliver results more reliably than ever before. It is perfect for printing functional prototypes, manufacturing tools and end-use parts, with a larger build volume than other printers within their range.
The Ultimaker S5 is the perfect solution for professional users, with fully integrated hardware, software and materials configuration, as well as optimal settings alignment. The printer provides full geometrical freedom capabilities, industrial-grade material properties, repeatability, high uptime and an integrated workflow.
Boasting an optimized touch screen for better user experience, the S5 features a 330x240x300 mm build volume for printing larger objects, dual extrusion, and an improved feeder system with a filament flow sensor that auto pauses and resumes when materials run out—leaving print quality untouched.
You can even leave the Ultimaker S5 to work unattended, with the new enhanced bed levelling ensuring a perfect first layer and continuisly compensating the print bed while printing.
The innovations don’t stop there though, the Ultimaker S5 unlocks new applications and can print with a wider range of materials, from PLA to advanced engineering plastics like Nylon and PC. The Ultimaker S5 includes a closed front system, and from Autumn 2018, an anodized build plate.
The Ultimaker S5 will be available to purchase from RS Components on 15th May 2018.
