THIRD PROJECT: Laser Art Restoration Mobile Station designed with DSM 4

This is my third project which is still in progress. The workstation which is under development is dedicated to the research being conducted at FORTH-IESL, Greece, as well as The Acropolis Museum on the restoration of artworks (marbles, paintings etc) with lasers.

Laser art restoration is by far the most effective, most promising and safest techniques for the restoration of artworks. FORTH-IESL, where I work as a technician, has a leading role in this research field internationally.
The station consists of a housing, a metallic breadboard, an Nd:YAG laser, and an articulating robotic arm. Multiple laser beams (infrared, ultraviolet and green) are driven through several optics (reflecting mirrors, lenses, attenuators, shutters etc) to the internal axis of an articulating arm which finally drives the focused beam on the target.

All parts designed from scratch with DSM 4.0

I am a physicist, working as a research technician at the Institute of Electronic Structure & Laser of the Foundation for Research & Technology - Hellas, in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. Our institute is a satisfied RS customer. I am specialised in lasers and vacuum technology. I am also a CAD designer with years of experience. DSM is currently my primary CAD software. "ScieRtist"
