Anyone offer insight into the process to allow a remeasure of a defined dimension of material in the event that a single dimension on a single sample fails but because of Data Integrity rules we need to document the "Fail" part and explain how we remeasured for Reason A and this remeasurement process does not effect any of the pass measurements obtained on the same equipment

Hi everyone; I need to measure water pressure in soil subjected to dynamic load with freuency ~20Hz. I'm thinking of using presure sensor (RS Stock No.797-5018) (using some setup to convey the pressure from the soil to sensor!) but the data sheet of this sensor does not state whether it can read dynamic or static water pressure. So, could you please advise whether this sensor can read dynamic load with frequency 1-20Hz? If it can not, could you please recommend a presure sensor (range 0-6 bar, operating temperatures 1-50C) suitable for this job? Thanks in advance for your support

Hi! I'm doing a university project and would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer. I am trying to find out how much it would cost to manufacture a thermal imaging camera as part of a standard video camera set. It would only need to measure temperatures between 10 and 50 degrees Celcius, so I'm hoping it wouldn't be as expensive as the products generally available when buying a thermal imaging camera as a consumer! Hello,   I'm looking for some recommendations about what approach would be for my project.   I am aiming to create an instrumented device that measures the forces exerted by the fingertips during precision grip (between the thumb and index finger). So I would need to measure the force normal to the contact surface and the vertical force applied by the fingertips at the contact point. I need the distance between the thumb and index finger to be below 40mm - preferably less, so the depth of any force measuring sensor would need to be small.   I would need to be able to measure up to 20N with a safe overload capacity up to 50N. Ideally, the resolution of the device would be around 0.01N if possible with high accuracy and repeatability. The instrumented device will need to be wireless and light, so all data must be wirelessly transmitted to a standalone computer for logging and processing. Because of this requirement all amplification of the force signal will need to be very compact and light - I have been looking into some electronic boards, such as the AD7705. I will need a high sampling frequency of at least 200Hz, but ideally 500-600Hz.   I wasn't sure whether a triaxial load cell would be best for this or a configuration of strain gauges and the best approach to the signal conditioning.   Any advice would be appreciated :)

A few people are finding the strain on there body's from using a draper torque screwdriver that is 1000v rated so I'm trying to see if there is a geared multiplier of same or a cordless approach that would have the same rating and be able to tighten the terminal screws to 3nm

Hi there, please could you help me decide what sensor I need for this application. I need to count how many times a shaft has rotated and in which direction. The user turns a knob attached to the shaft, I want to display what level they are at, the more they turn the knob the greater resistance is placed on the a wheel. Hi All, I'm a bit of a novice at this but hope someone can point me in the right direction. We installed a water softener that regenerates after a set through put of water. Obviously this depends on the house hold usage so can happen anytime at 20 to 26 hours intervals.  The regeneration is signaled by the discharge of water through a 3/8" o/d plastic tube, some 17 litres at about 1 bar pressure. Is there any way to capture these regen events and record the time (& Date) they happen? If there is a simple/easy solution to cobble together proprietary components that would be great but if it proves too difficult and expensive then the curiosity value may not be worth the effort. Hello, this is my first question so I hope someone can offer some advice. I would like to measure the pressure through a 0.04" ID 1/16" OD metal tube. The liquid running through the tube may block it (the liqud has bits in), so I need to measure if there is a decrease in pressure as it flows through. I understand that I will need a 3 way connector, fluid in, fluid out, and a screw for the pressure gauge at the top. As well as an appropriste pressure gauge. Could someone please recomend a pressure gauge and connector from the RS website? The experiments will be conducted at room temperature and pressure and the fluid will be pushed into the metal tube with a syringe. Thank you for any help / advice.

Thanks for reading, I'm looking to test the presence of features between three variants of a single part. The part is a black moulding that has open/closed panels. I was hoping to use something like a reed switch or mechanical switct, that would then trigger a green/red light for go/no go. Is this possible? if so, what would I need to enable three variants to be switchable?

Planning a project that involves high speed communication in an electrically noisy environment. I'd like to be able to measure the "background" noise of an engine bay with the car running as well as the noise picked up in a cable. This data would then be compared to the electrical background noise in an empty room or lab. (Unfortunately, I don't have an EMC chamber to hand.) Thanks in advance!
