Student Project Fund | Spain 2026 - Winners Announcement
We are delighted to announce the 8 winners of this year's Student Project Fund - Spain!
The Student Project Fund Spain program is supporting engineering students to advance their projects from ideas to physical solutions by levitating the cost burden of accessing physical products, hence allowing the development of the practical skills which form a key part of a young engineer's education and career journey.
The 8 winners will be provided with a 1000€ discount on a basket of products worth 1250€ and above (terms and conditions apply).
We are excited to invite you to keep an eye out on our social pages for videos about the winners and their respective projects.
| University | Team | Project Description |
|---|---|---|
| Universidad Politécnica de Madrid | UPM Motostudent Electric | The project designs and builds electric motorcycle prototypes for international MotoStudent competitions. It stands out through advanced electric motor optimisation, in-house testing tools, and consistently podium-level performance. |
| Universidad de Oviedo | Team Uniovi | 4Space Uniovi project focuses on designing and operating a modular planetary rover for Mars-like environments, with an emphasis on autonomy, energy efficiency, and system reliability. |
| Universidad de Sevilla | Vantus Aerodesign Team | The project focuses on designing, building, and flight-testing lightweight, fully electric unmanned aircraft. It combines advanced aerodynamic optimisation with innovative structural solutions to achieve high performance under strict competition constraints. |
| Universitat Politècnica de València | Pluton UPV | The project is developing a 2U CubeSat as a technology demonstrator for embedded artificial intelligence in space. The mission tests an AI-powered chatbot onboard the satellite, focusing on low-power operation and integration of language models in real space conditions. |
| Polytechnic University of Valencia | Hyperloop UPV | The project develops and tests a functional Hyperloop prototype, focusing on the real-world integration of electrical, electronic, and control systems. It translates an ultra-high-speed transport concept into a validated, modular engineering system through hands-on design and testing. |
| Universidad de Malaga | Aumat UMA Aero Team | The project focuses on the design, construction, and flight testing of a fixed-wing, radio-controlled aircraft developed entirely from scratch. It covers the full development cycle, from aerodynamic and structural design to system integration and real flight validation. |
| Universidad Politécnica de Madrid | UPM Motostudent Petrol EME | Developed for an international student motorsport competition, the project involves building and racing a prototype motorcycle featuring a Hossack-style front suspension. The concept is validated through rapid prototyping, adjustable components and iterative on-track testing to optimise braking performance, stability, and rider feedback. |
| Universidad de Malaga | UMA Racing Team | The project develops a high-performance electric racing motorcycle focused on maximising energy efficiency through smart system optimisation. It features custom control software, an in-house Battery Management System, and lightweight carbon-fibre design. |
CONGRATULATIONS, we can't wait to see your project come to life!!!
