Singapore’s Smart Nation drive swings into the energy sector. The government wants companies/institutes to test cleantech innovations in the city and to use it as a 'living lab' to test cutting-edge energy technologies.
To align with Singapore’s Smart Nation drive, as well as to promote the use of DesignSpark Software, i.e. DesignSpark PCB, DesignSpark Mechanical and DesignSpark Electrical, Republic Polytechnic School of Engineering organized a sustainable energy system design competition for students to utilize DesignSpark software to design, document and add-value to their Final Year Project (FYP).
20 FYP teams, which consisted of 4-5 students per team, have participated in the competition. The students were working on projects which are related to renewable energy, sustainable energy and energy efficiency to align with the energy efficiency seminar hosted by RS Components in 2016. Out of the 20 teams that participated in the competition, 5 teams have won an award. Winning projects are listed in the table below:
