Setting new energy performance standardsFollow article
IE3 – the new EU minimum energy performance standard – seeks to reduce and minimise our global energy consumption. This premium efficiency standard will come fully into force on 1st January 2017, by which time ALL motors must meet the IE3 efficiency level.
With 30 million electric motors sold for industrial purposes every year, as well as some 300 million already in use, motors are the largest single user of electric power on the planet. So increasing the energy efficiency of motors will have a significant impact worldwide.
