RZF Relays from TE Connectivity

TE Connectivity's (TE) space-saving RZF power relays are the most recent addition to TE’s RZ series of single-pole relays with a unique weld breaker mechanism to overcome micro welding and help improve overall lifetime. The RZF is a FASTON version of the RZ relay. It has top-mounted quick-connect tabs for load connections, allowing load current of up to 16A to be kept off the printed circuit board (PCB).

Space-saving relay design

The RZF’s low-profile design results in a mounted height of only 27.6 mm (1.09 in) including tabs, which is about 19 percent less than the height of some previous generation PCB relays with similar features and top-mounted tabs. This saves valuable space above the PCB and permits a cover or other component to be placed near the PCB.

TE Connectivity’s RZF relay provides through-hole technology PCB terminals and contacts in a 1 Form A (normally open) arrangement, rated 16 amps at 250 volts AC, resistive.

Other features include:

• Top-mounted quick-connect tabs for load connections - 4.8 x 0.5 mm (.187 x .020 in) 
• Mounted height of just 27.6 mm (1.09 in) including tabs
• Operates in ambient temperatures up to 85°C
• 5 through 48 VDC coils require 530mW coil power
• ≥5kV dielectric between contacts and coil
• Complies with IEC 60335-1, 5th edition (glow wire test)
• UL recognised, plus VDE approved and CQC certified
