RS Components at Electronica!

The 8-11th of November, RS Components will be live, loud and ready to rumble to the sounds of Robot Clash at the Electronica Trade Fair in Munich in Germany (Hall A4 Stand 241).

At every Electronica event, we like to have an exciting theme for the stand, and this year is no exception as 2016 sees us focussing on the ‘Engineers Playground’. This concept demonstrates all the fun, excitement and innovation that can be found in today’s multidiscipline design industry. We will be showcasing all the latest and greatest products & technologies covering applications such as The Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, 3D printing and more.

On our stand (Hall A4 Stand 241), we have something for everyone and a schedule jam-packed with great ideas and innovations. We will be running live Robot Battles throughout the day, where visitors can show off their robot fighting skills by going head to head with each other and even against the beastly house robots in the High-Noon Showdown! All streamed live on the screens above the battle arena with prizes going to the daily high-scorers!

There is also a great gaming arena, ‘Generation Gaming’ which includes retro inspired game consoles with games such as Space Invaders, Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog and Minecraft, so warm up those hands and show us your gaming skills. If you love Virtual Reality, we have that covered as well with a great game for you to try and we will be giving away VR Headsets to visitors who take part.

We also have some great prizes to win if you enter the prize draw we will be hosting during the Electronica event, including a Tag Heuer watch and a great E-Bike! Make sure you get yourself some raffle tickets!

Our interactive stand also features an Electronics Design workbench area showcasing bench test equipment, soldering stations and ESD products all from our very own RS Pro Range. The workbench will also be used for the actual repair and maintenance of the Robot Clash robots between battle bouts too! There’s a DesignSpark zone packed with innovations, like the Light Theremin, that visitors can use to create a tune with, the Raspberry Pi selfie camera and the Retro Ham Radio box that will be transmitting live during the day.

There will also be displays that showcase our great free-to-download CAD design tools and resources for design engineers, such as DesignSpark PCB, DesignSpark Mechanical and DesignSpark Electrical.

The RS Live Truck will be at Electronica too, taking a break from its European tour with its Design, Maintain and Build areas, DesignSpark zone, interactive displays, pi-top laptops, it’s packed with engineering innovation and it even has a bar and roof terrace, it’s an internet Café on wheels so come and check it out in the Atrium!

We will also be running a series of ‘Meet The Expert’ sessions during the week and some of the best product designers from across the industry, such as Dominic Bramley from IBM and Eben Upton from Raspberry Pi, will be presenting and answering questions on their latest designs.  Every day there will also be experts from the DesignSpark team on hand to answer any questions you may have and to explain the various technologies on display.

As you can see there is something for everyone at the RS Components stand at Electronica this year, so make sure you have booked yourself a ticket to the event and make really sure you come along to our stand and have some well-deserved fun!
