I CAN'T MAKE OUT ANYTHING ON MY WORK AREA.

JoeMangino

I started with "Creating your first solid." I followed the instructions exactly for making a rectangle. There was the first problem when I clicked plan view. The grid was a horrible mess of lines all over the place and there were no rectangle lines, just the dimensions. I tried following the same instructions three times and gave up. I tried next to work with the automation design examples and I just couldn't make out anything on the screen. Everything else in the program looked perfect, tools etc. Now I just downloaded DesignSpark this afternoon, and I was very deliberate in following the download and install instructions concisely. But I think that I might have done one thing wrong. I am pretty sure that I mistakenly downloaded the online Java instead of the offline program. I guess you guys will know if that makes a difference. I watched a lot of the tutorials and was blown-away. I've used AutoCad 11, 12, and 14 for around 45 years and I think that I found the best free-source program out there. I sure hope you guys can help me get up and running. I'm an inventor and would really appreciate this wonderful program. Well I hope you can get back to me soon. Thanks so much for taking the time to read about my problem. Good luck, Joe Mangino Jr.
