Is the RSDOC format backwards compatible with previous DesignSpark Mechanical versions?

This tutorial requires:

DesignSpark Mechanical V6.0

Yes, the RSDOC format is backwards compatible meaning new versions can open designs created with legacy versions of the software.

But it is not forwards compatible, as the file data structure will change between major revisions. That is, a DSM version 5 file if modified in DSM version 6 cannot be opened with DSM version 5 again.
