ROHM's new BU33UV7NUX boost DC/DC converter IC maintains stable, long-term output - even with a single dry-cell battery.
Electronic devices driven by small batteries, such as remote controls and wearables, continue to gain traction. In addition to greater miniaturization, lower power consumption is needed to prolong battery life. Developed in response to these demands, the BU33UV7NUX outputs the 3.3V required to drive MCUs from one or two dry-cell batteries.
Key Features
1. High efficiency with load current mode switching
A load current mode switching function is built in that makes it possible to achieve superior energy-saving performance for a wide range of dry-cell battery applications by performing switching at the mode terminal. In H Mode high efficiency is maintained in the high load current region, while L Mode improves efficiency at light loads.
2. Low current consumption + low voltage drive
The operating mode can be selected based on the application load current. Industry-leading current consumption is achieved in either mode (13uA in H Mode and only 7uA in L Mode). As a result, when taking into account battery life, operation up to 120 days is possible in H Mode and as long as 175 days in L Mode.
