how to import dxf files in metric units

I'm having an issue when importing DXF files into DesignSpark Mechanical. My DesignSpark Mechanical settings are set to metric , but whenever I import a DXF file, it seems to default to imperial units. Because of this, the imported drawing scale/dimensions are incorrect.

Is there a specific import setting or step I need to change so DXF files open in metric correctly?
