How do I save the library of parts from my project?

by DesignSpark

This tutorial requires:

DesignSpark PCB V12

This new DSPCB v12 feature allows the current project components to be saved to a user designated library.

*Requires an Engineer subscription

This is useful for ensuring the same components with their schematic symbols are used in future designs or design variants. The procedure is very simple and quick.

From a schematic or PCB editing window select File – Save Project Libraries…

PCB editing window

Follow the dialog to select the destination library and click Save.

The component and symbol libraries will then be created and are then ready for use in any design.

The image below shows the Library with three projects saved and the associated .cml .ssl and .psl libraries.
