With the new, rapid deployment of fibre to the home installations, technicians need to have the tools to quickly locate common fibre faults and to be able to differentiate optical signals on overlayed networks. With more “new to fibre” technicians being deployed, the need for easy-to-use and cost-effective test tools increases. This webinar will explore the use of optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs), optical power meters (OPMs), and other related test instruments using common sense test techniques empowering novice and skilled technicians to keep the last mile of the network up and running.
Webinar hosted by Keith Foord, who is the Fiber-optic Product Manager at Tempo Communications with over 35 years of experience in the design and development of OTDR’s, OLTS’s and other fibre-optic test instrumentation. OTDR technology expertise includes handheld and laboratory instruments that use conventional pulsed technology and millimetre resolution OTDR’s with >100dB dynamic range that employ photon-counting techniques.
