Enhancing Safety and Connectivity with Werma’s eSIGN Signal Tower

by GreigRS

In this DesignSpark interview, Product Manager Julian Schmid from Werma discusses the evolution of stack lights and introduces the company’s advanced eSIGN signal tower range.

He explains the fundamental role of stack lights in industrial and commercial environments, primarily warning, guiding, and supporting safety compliance. Julian outlines how Werma pioneered modular stack lights in 1994 and has since expanded into beacons, sounders, and software solutions.

The eSign represents a major technological leap, offering electronic modularity, multiple segment configurations (6, 9, or 15), full‑surface illumination, customizable RGB colours, and optional sounders with up to 10 tones. Its robust design includes IP66/69K, UV resistance, making them suitable for harsh conditions and sensitive environments such as pharma and electronics.

Julian also highlights flexible connectivity, including IO‑Link and PROFINET for industrial integration. This, together with intuitive configuration software, makes the eSIGN highly adaptable and easy to integrate across diverse industrial applications.
