I am struggling to figure out what motor I require for a project. If I explain I hope you will be able to provide some advice?
I need to lift a 500g weight in the form of a mini shutter door. The door will be on rails and like many shutter doors, will roll up on an axel. My problem is finding out what motor to buy. Newton’s second law doesn’t completely apply because the weight is not a constant and I need to take into account things like gravity and friction from the rails.
Because if this, I don’t think a servo motor will work as the power is instant. So a geared motor I have found on seems more suitable - product number 8347679.
Would it be possible to advise me if this is the right purchase and if not one on the RS site that might be more suitable?
