After downloading and installing RS Logic Module, I can't get it to open/run?

Hi all,

I have downloaded the RS Logic Module from http://auto.designspark.info/exe/RS_Logic_Module.zip. The software and USB drivers seemed to install correctly and the programme icon has appeared on the desktop etc. This programme does not open/run, i have tried on 3 seperate machines all with admin rights.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

James

Hi,

Are you running the software on Windows 10?
If yes, can you right click and open the program's properties, go to the compatibility tab and choose 'run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 7'. Click OK to save this setting. Then launch the program as usual.

Best regards,

@DesignSpark Thanks for your help. Yes I am running windows 10 pro. Unfortunately changing the compatibility mode hasn't helped. I asked our internal I.T department to investigate and they said they are receiving the following error messages: Faulting application name: Logic Module.exe, version: 19.6.0.22, time stamp: 0x571b6371 Faulting module name: hmpalert.dll, version: 3.8.0.515, time stamp: 0x5f5a1bec Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00016d35 Faulting process ID: 0x267c Faulting application start time: 0x01d70136c998b75f Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\RS Components\RS Pro Logic Module Software\Logic Module.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\hmpalert.dll Report ID: 9731cc67-29c4-45f3-b123-9329284760bb Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Does this shed any light? Thanks

@JBarlow Hi, do you have a program named 'HitmanPro.Alert' installed? You can either stop this program from running in the background manually from the Windows Services menu or uninstall it. There appears to be other software too that tend to conflict with HitmanPro.Alert. It may be that it is flagging new software as false positive (malware) and blocking the program launch routine. For your reassurance, you can manually scan EXEs with the Windows Defender to ensure they are clean. In this case, Logic Module.exe is a safe file as it was installed from a package hosted on our DesignSpark domain and is owned by RS Components Ltd.
