DesignSpark Community News
Since we launched the new DesignSpark platform 12 months ago, we have been adding new functionality and delivering improvements through a series of agile sprints designed to make DesignSpark work even better for you.
This is why you’ll sometimes spot subtle changes to the site since the last time you visited.
Lots of improvements have already been implemented and there’s loads of new functionality still to come, so it’s an excellent time to give you an update.
You’ve probably noticed this new area signposted around DesignSpark, but have you had a look? Put your technical questions to the community – and, of course, share your expertise in answering other community members' questions.
You can now see an overview of your profile including all your published content, questions and followers:
After logging in, select ‘Account Details’ and then click ‘View My Profile’.
Other DesignSpark users can see your profile page by clicking on your username in any article you have created.
If you are a very prolific DesignSpark content creator, you might be lucky enough to get an early preview of DesignSpark notifications during BETA testing (which is happening right now – if you can see the bell next to your avatar/photo, you have notifications!)
The new alert system allows you to quickly and easily see when someone comments on your articles, answers your questions, follows you, likes your articles or questions – essentially, you will be alerted whenever someone interacts with you on DesignSpark.
You will also have the ability to subscribe to your favourite Technology Hubs and receive notifications when new content has been added, follow other DesignSpark users and watch particular articles you like.
This functionality will be rolled out to all users by the end of November – pending successful BETA testing of course!
Here’s an example of the kind of thing you will see in your Notifications:
Spoiler alert! Gamification of DesignSpark and rewards coming soon...
