Component creating for 2D scetching

Hi all,

I have just got this programme for basic 2D sketching.

I've drawn 1 component that is required however I cannot save this and open it in another document as a "compenent"?

Also I've tried merging the seperate bits on the drawing to all merge into one "item" but when i click and move it - only one of the parts move and not the whole item?

Is there also a way to colour fill the sketch and colour the outlines purely for aesthetics?

Any help greatly appreciated.
