The world of industrial sensing covers many sensor types and applications, from the basic off-the-shelf presence sensors such as limit switches to sensors with built-in intelligence that acquire knowledge for ingrained Machine Learning and AI capabilities, the application potential for sensors seems limitless.
For industrial sensing, the opportunities brought by new technology and the manufacturing efficiencies of the sensors themselves, present users with an abundance of feature-rich applications at an afforded cost base. The smart factory of Industry 4.0 requires a broad range of sensors to deliver the information needed to make informed decisions at the enterprise level.
