Using the Raspberry Pi time-lapse camera to capture the sun rising over Hebden Bridge.

Two weeks ago I posted details of a quickly hacked together time-lapse photography project which used a Raspberry Pi Model A and Camera together with a simple shell script. The post seems to have generated quite a bit of interest and I must admit that I was reasonably pleased with the results given that it was a first attempt.

The video above is another created using the same technique described in the previous blog post, but this time the camera was set in action on an evening and ran until around midday the next day. No different camera or mencoder options were used and the aim was really just to capture a sunrise.

This is something that I plan to continue experimenting with, and once I've tidied the scripts up and made them a little more useful I'll post details here so that others can more easily experiment with time-lapse photography using the Raspberry Pi camera.

For the sunrise fast-forward to around 45 seconds in!
