Trying to modify a rotated pattern

Phil2000

If I were drawing a skip tooth timing wheel for an automotive application, by having first drawn the shape of one tooth, rotating it in a pattern mode to get something like 20 or 30 evenly spaced teeth. Now, what I would like to do is remove three teeth to have a gap that will act as a timing reference in my application

But the problem I am having is that trying to delete just one tooth, is removing all of the teeth

Is there a way to break the solid into seperate parts, so that changes made to one tooth will not have any effect on the others?
