The building is an asset with a rising value that needs to be preserved or improved. Meanwhile, energy prices, that is heating, ventilation, air conditioning costs are high and will not drop spectacularly soon.

Planning, control, supervision and documentation of the works becomes a prominent issue as the building sector is faced with new materials, a growing set of building regulations, ever-shorter time frames to get the job done and, in some regions, lack of a skilled workforce.

Against this background, it is imperative to be able to assess the building substance thoroughly and quickly.

What can be done with an infrared camera?Building-diagnosis-generic-2000x15001_999ce8f26bb2429597734ff65f1e2fe1e922d0f3.jpg

The camera can be applied inside as well as outside. Fields of application include any symptoms and signs marked by a temperature difference on a surface.

Leak and humidity detection

  • Heating thermography inspections
  • Building envelope thermography
  • Floor heating thermography
  • Air tightness testing
  • Door seal inspection
  • Wall seal heat loss inspection
  • Moisture thermography inspections
  • Roof moisture thermography
  • Dewpoint thermography inspection

Building valuing/ damage, repair inspections

  • Due diligence thermography
  • Covered openings search in walls
  • Work documentation, quality control - before and after repair
  • Energy investigations
  • Education

Preventive Maintenance and building applications

  • HVAC system performance and repair
  • Home electrical inspection
  • Indoor environment inspection
  • Pest control
  • Checking drying efficiency of walls, floors, ceilings

Thermal imagers provide clear images that can be stored, shared, analyzed, and provide specific features for building diagnostics which enable an easy detection of building anomalies that often result in energy losses --

SuperResolution at your fingertipslocation-thermography-003810_im6c_37a79be6533d38303bf3ba0a9df362f9aa20a8fa.jpg

The testo SuperResolution inside the testo 868 (125-2266) and testo 872 (125-2268) thermal imagers allow you to detect faults and anomalies in building or heating systems quicker and easier.

The testo SuperResolution technology offers four times more pixels and a geometric resolution which is improved by a factor of 1.6. Consequently, a 160 x 120-pixel resolution image will be turned into a professional-size 320 x 240 pixels, while a 320 x 240 pixels image will become a 640 x 480 pixels.

ScaleAssist

The testo ScaleAssist automatically ensures an optimum setting of the thermal image scale, which allows you to generate objectively comparable thermal images and better to see faults or anomalies on the building shell, both inside and outside.ir-image-without-scaleassist_9446978104dd466224bf05d679c95065d5713999.jpgir-image-with-scaleassist_817a657cb9e5f0e10bbde5ca609bdf527ece25c2.jpg

Here is a building thermography application video, explaining the ScaleAssist function:

Testo Thermography App

The free testo Thermography App allows you to work remotely, using a smartphone or tablet to change settings and also as a second display. Additional analysis as well as compiling reports can be done on-site, and subsequently saved and sent to peers or customers. Images-Product-Image-2000x1500_b1f698cf74939b09f4b20b9e34fa3c74ef461ecf.jpg

Wireless connectivity with the testo 605i hygrometer

The testo 872 (125-2268) can be connected with the thermohygrometer testo 605i (913-2585) . This allows you to quickly and clearly identify in the thermal image where mould buildup and damp spots are located. Image-connectivity-2000x1500_872900928c9536806c0e9f570ecef306950a2386.jpg

Testo thermal imagers enable you to clearly document repair, restoration, insulation or HVAC works. Thermal images show customers and clients the exact problem and prove to them that the problem has been repaired correctly. This evidence adds value to the contractor’s skill and expertise eventually expanding his range of services.

Using a thermal imager before every building valuation, transaction, or HAVC repair maximizes value and minimizes costs.

Finding and repairing faults thanks to infrared thermography saves energy resources, time, money and finally, provides a rapid return of investment on the camera.
