Today, we are launching a weekly publication called "The SFK project". SFK stands for "Science and Fun for Kids". There will be experiments and projects especially chosen for kids. Saying that I must add the advisory that the intention is not to let your kids read and do those projects without supervision. Please do not leave your kids alone with the text, pictures and videos. This is also a disclaimer: Some of the tools and experiments might be harmful to children and therefore, should never be used or done without parental supervision!
I want to give parents instructions at hand to share valuable time with your kids. Help them tinkering, help them solve problems and explain to them the science behind the experiments. Each article is about a particular scientific concept, like "friction", "magnetism", and so on. You will get detailed instructions on how to perform the experiment or how to tinker the project. There will always be an explanation part written in a language addressing kids. You will also always find a section "By the way" which will contain further didactical content for those kids who are really curious.
You will have a fun time together with your kids. Your kids will learn science the easy way. They will train their abilities and gain knowledge. And most important: You will strengthen their self-confidence.
Hope this will help you make the best out of the COVID quarantine restrictions!
Cheers,
Volker.
