You want to control one or more fans with little wiring effort? This application example enables you to control up to four ebm-papst fans via MODBUS RTU. You will always have an overview of the serially controlled fans and can parameterize and control them individually or together. If necessary, you can extend the number of fans up to 32.

How does it work?

The S7-1200 controller cyclically queries the most important status information of all fans. Communication with the fans is sequential (one after the other). If necessary, specific parameters of a fan can be read. During parameter assignment or controlling, one fan or a group of fans can be addressed. Almost all parameters of the fans can automatically be accessed in the control program (without HMI).
