Meeting today’s versatile needs with reliable & advanced technology

As one of the Germany’s leading manufacturer of laboratory power supplies, EA manufactures auto-ranging laboratory power supply units which meet today’s complex requirements for functionality, flexibility and reliability. Here we focus on two ranges.

EA-PSI 5000

The microprocessor controlled laboratory power supplies of series EA-PSI 5000 offer a set of useful standard features, which can facilitate operation. Set values, actual values and status are clearly displayed at the same time on the blue, illuminated LCD, so you can view them at one glance. Moreover, they feature on-board interfacing (analogue/USB/LAN) allowing remote- and automated control.

EA-PSI 5000 is suitable for use in R&D, Industrial applications and Education the 5000 series supports performance testing, specification verification, burn-in/aging test of electronic components such as semiconductors, switches, relays, mating connectors, battery and capacitor charging.

EA-PSI 9000 2U

This series offers a user-friendly, interactive handling concept, along with a remarkable set of standard features, which can facilitate operating them. Configuration of output parameters, supervision features and other settings, as well as the replaceable digital interface modules is smart and comfortable.

The implemented supervision features for all output parameters can help to reduce test equipment and make it almost unnecessary to install external supervision hardware and software. The clear control panel with its two knobs, one pushbutton, two LEDs and the “multi-language” touch panel with colour TFT display for all important values and status enable the user to handle the device easily with just a few touches of the finger.

EA-PSI 9000 2U is suitable for performance testing, specification verification, burn-in/aging test of electronic components and devices, such as high-power semiconductors, heavy duty switches.- relays and mating connectors, for battery and capacitor charging etc., as well as to simulate different types of sources like batteries, PV panels, fuel cells alternators, in demanding R&D, industrial applications, universities and research environments.

Highlighted Feature

Saving example comparing a TDK Lambda source GEN series with an EA source PS 9000 1U series:

For 3 testing devices (EUT) of same nature, with nominal 2.4kW power consumption but different nominal string (input) voltage, three different input currents (current consumption) need to be provided by the source:

(P / U = I)

1) EUT 2.4kW, nominal voltage 24V = 100A input current (24Vx100A = 2.4kW)

2) EUT 2.4kW, nominal voltage 48V =   50A input current (48Vx 50A = 2.4kW)

3) EUT 2.4kW, nominal voltage 60V =   40A input current (60Vx 40A = 2.4KW)

By using a conventional rectangular source such as TDK-Lambda GEN series, it requires two different 3.3kW power sources to power all three ETUs, (24, 48 and 60V) or one much oversized (and overpriced) 80V10kW source instead. The 3kW source of EA however, with the flexible autoranging output can power all three ETUs. Moreover, it can still operate on a single-phase 220/230/240V~ mains supply, whereas the TDK Lambda units will require a 3-phase 400V~ mains supply.
