Affordable Arduino robotics with TinkerKit Braccio

Makers, hobbyists and professional design engineers alike can now prototype and experiment with robotics, easily, quickly and affordably.

The TinkerKit Braccio is a fully functional robotic arm with six servomotors for full flexibility. The desktop-based model is extremely versatile and can be assembled in a number of different ways depending on the required application.

The Braccio is controlled using an Arduino board (supplied separately) and is compatible with a wide range of Arduino control boards:

  • *Leonardo ETH
  • *Yun
  • *Tian
  • M0
  • M0 Pro
  • Ethernet
  • Due
  • Mega 2560
  • Leonardo
  • UNO
  • UNO SMD

*In addition, the Braccio can be controlled via tablet, smartphone or PC when using one of these Arduino control boards

TinketKit Braccio Example Uses

The TinkerKit Braccio robotic arm can be used as a tracking mechanism, as well as for picking up and moving objects. It could be programmed as a solar power positioner to track the sun; as an automated camera mount; or to track attendees in a video conference with mounted tablet.

The Braccio is fast and easy to set up without the need for soldering or breadboards. Sensors and actuators connect the arm’s interface to the Arduino control board via Arduino Sensor Shield.

With a maximum weight capacity of 150g at 32cm operating distance, load capacity of up to 400g in its minimal configuration, and a £140 price tag, this exciting kit is highly desirable and accessible to everyone.
