Panasonic Industry Europe launches the new highly reliable and miniature ZKU series of Conductive Polymer Hybrid Electrolytic Capacitors. Panasonic’s ZKU series marks the largest capacitance* range in the industry, ramping up from the current popular ZK series’ offer by 20%. The high capacitance characteristics in the miniaturized body can reduce the number of required capacitors on the PCB.
The ZKU series can withstand high current application conditions in automotive and industrial areas. Applications of this series include DC-DC converters, BMS, power supplies, motor control, robotics and the like. The adoption of ZKU series in EPS application decreases the PCB area by 25% when compared to other capacitors on the market.
Currently available with a rated voltage of 25VDC and 35VDC, the polarized ZKU series can be supplied in a vibration-proof format, that is able to withstand shocks of up to 30G. Standard products can only withstand up to 10G. The operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C.

It is predicted that by 2025, 25% of newly registered cars will have an electrified powertrain. Approximately, 50% of those will feature 48V technology. More ECUs are being employed in cars due to safety regulations. Therefore the market needs more compact ECUs that can also withstand vibration.
The green energy movement is accelerating as we address climate change concerns. This places great demand on the performance of components selected.
The move towards smart factories is increasing the number of electronic systems that are used within the manufacturing environment. Devices must be small, reliable and capable of working in harsh environments.
Panasonic’s range of Hybrid capacitors – specifically the market-leading ZKU series devices are engineered to meet these challenges.
